Job Description

Traveling CarpenterWe are seeking a skilled and dependable carpenter to join our remodeling team, focusing on commercial remodeling projects. This position requires the ability to perform a variety of carpentry and construction tasks across multiple job sites, including framing, finish carpentry, demolition, and general construction practices. The ideal candidate will have the flexibility to travel and work at project locations as needed.ResponsibilitiesPerform demolition and site preparation for remodeling projects.Install framing, drywall, doors, windows, trim, cabinets, flooring, and other finish carpentry components.Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.Complete commercial renovation work according to project schedules and quality standards.Measure, cut, and assemble construction materials accurately.Operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment safely and effectively.Assist with layout, installation, and construction of interior and exterior building components.Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and other trades on-site.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.Travel to project locations and work extended schedules when necessary to meet project timelines.Identify and report material needs, project concerns, and safety issues.Essential Skills3+ years of carpentry, remodeling, or construction experience preferred.Experience with commercial renovations, tenant improvements, retail build-outs, hospitality renovations, or residential remodeling is a plus.Ability to read blueprints and use construction measuring tools.Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.Strong understanding of construction safety practices.Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to get to projects out of state.Ability to travel extensively and stay overnight near project sites.Located in Southern WI and willing to travel out of stateAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience with demolition, finish carpentry, and rough carpentry.Proficiency in using a tape measure and hand tools.Why Work Here?Join a large general contractor with a collaborative team culture. Required attire includes leather boots above the ankle, safety glasses, hard hat, and high-visibility clothing.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beloit, WI.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
